Market Place Find Of The Week
By Colton Peters · March 18, 2026
You have never heard of this putter
Last night I was up scrolling through the marketplace when a putter caught my eye that I had never seen before. For those of you who do not know, Adams Golf was a moderately successful company that was acquired by TaylorMade. The big guys took the technology they liked and unfortunately faded the brand out. They are probably most famous for the Adams Idea line.
Funny enough, I was just out playing with a club member who competes in a lot of tournaments. I noticed he had the Adams Idea irons in the bag and asked him about them. He told me he got fitted halfway through 2025 for a new set of T150s but after six months went right back to the Idea irons. I have to say they looked absolutely beautiful.

The point is Adams Golf was more at the forefront of my mind than usual. So when I saw this putter I immediately clicked. I am going to attach more pictures below, but this thing is about as mint as it gets.

From what I gather reading old posts, the Damascus line was exclusively for Adams Tour pros or employees. The marbling on this putter is so good it literally looks like real wood grain. This also confused me a bit because I thought Adams Tour players used YES putters back in the day. If anyone has any info on this, shoot me a DM in the Community

The Description the Owner Gave Is As Follows:
This is an extremely rare Damascus steel putter by Adams Golf. It was a limited production run. This putter has never seen play. The current shaft is by Fujikura, measuring 34 inches, with a special Ferrari-style paint job. The original shaft is included and measures 35 inches when installed. Both shafts have Iomic grips. Head cover showing signs of age. OBO, no trades.

So you get two shafts, one of which has the special paint job. This got me wondering, why have I never seen one of these before? And who would dare put a new shaft in it if it was never even gamed?
After some digging I came across a forum post from 2011. Apparently Adams gave these out to employees. The even crazier part? The guy who worked there was showing off the putters he was gifted by the company, and this exact model was in there. Not the same number on the bottom, but the same model. My guess is each employee got their own custom number.
Now here is where it gets really weird. The thread was posted from Orange County, California, which is exactly where this marketplace listing is from!

So you are probably thinking to yourself, was the Adam's headquarters in Orange County? No, Adams Golf headquarters were in Plano, Texas and eventually got absorbed into TaylorMade which is based out of Carlsbad, San Diego.
My guess is that a number of employees relocated to North San Diego when the acquisition happened. After they were either done working there or let go, those putters eventually made their way up for sale, and that is why we are seeing them pop up in the Southern California market.
Think about it, if you are an important enough employee to not get fired during that acquisition, my guess is you relocated. Look at the above photos as well. 01 is not designated for the 21 year old employee fresh out of college. To me, this was for a higher level executive at that time or this was given to a pro.

So I know what everyone is wondering. What is the price?
It is actually not as much as you would think. The owner currently has it listed at $700, which looks like it was reduced from $1,000 at some point. It is not a Circle T, but from what I can gather across old discussions and photos, this was one of the highest quality flat sticks ever made.
If you are interested in the old forum, I was referring to, you can find it here: HERE
Thanks everyone, and leave comments if you know anything about these!
