The Lefty Wins At Bay Hill

As the sun rose on Bay Hill Sunday morning, no one could have predicted we were about to witness a comeback for the ages. Watching the first couple hours of the broadcast, it was honestly pretty boring. Daniel Berger was going to cruise to an easy victory and his comeback-from-injury story would be complete.

Akshay actually didn't play great on the front 9. Everything looked like a struggle and he couldn't really gain any momentum. Then on 10, everything changed. He sunk a 40-plus-foot putt for birdie and the snowball started rolling down the hill. The Callaway lefty was about to have an out of body experience.

The guy then proceeds to go on a tear with the flat stick that I haven't seen in a long time. It was truly special to watch. You could tell as well Bhatia was in his bag. The walk had some swagger to it and the swings were beyond confident. Everything was on a string. Hole 16 rolls around and Berger makes a bogey. As they head down 18, it's clear we are going to get some bonus golf.

Berger yanks his drive deep into the left rough on the first playoff hoke, and had to settle for hitting a weak cut left to avoid the water. Akshay hit center green. The 18th at Bay Hill is a truly massive green. For all the kids at home that are reading this, this victory came down to lag putting. They both left themselves some work, and for Berger it proved too much and he missed his par putt. Bhatia sunk his and secured his name into the Bay Hill wall of fame. Congrats Akshay, soak this one in.
